Repairs are being carried out on Tentsmuir Forest car park, which will mean it has closed to the general public.
Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) hopes the repairs will be complete by Friday (March 31st) in time for the weekend and Easter holidays, reported Fife Today.
The main visitor access road between the pay barrier and the car park at the Fife tourist attraction will see most of the repair work carried out.
Area visitor services manager Robin Lofthouse said: “With the weather slowly beginning to get more springlike we’re expecting visitors numbers to start picking up but we don’t want people turning up and being disappointed that they can’t get in.”
Visitors have been encouraged to find alternative places to head to if they want to come while work is still being carried out.
The FLS spokesperson said there is no alternative parking at Tentsmuir Forest, and roadside parking “will only hamper our works, inconvenience local residents and potentially prevent the emergency services from doing their jobs”.
This comes after Oxfordshire County Council spent up to £15,000 for repair works on its county hall car park.
Speaking with the Oxford Mail, a spokesperson from the local authority said the work on New Road needed to be done because the car park had “not been resurfaced for several decades”.
Mending potholes or damage to car parks requires the best in concrete repair specialists in the UK to ensure the work is carried out to the highest standard and does not need redoing in a few months’ time, as it is an inconvenience to the public.
